Tasty Thai Food in a Traditional Thai Atmosphere at Ruen Mallika!

Ruen Mallika is located in Sukhumvit soi 22, easily accessible by taxi or a short walk from The BTS via the Phrom Pong Station. A big, converted Thai-style house exudes traditional ambiance from the old-style decorations to the wonderfully attentive staff wearing traditional Thai dress. Ruen Mallika has a nice outdoor dining area filled with trees that makes you forget you are in the middle of busy Bangkok. They have a second branch located at Crystal Design Center but this is not in the downtown Bangkok area.

The Thai food at Ruen Mallika is very tasty but not overly spicy making it great for folks who love Thai food but can't handle extremely spicy fare. Of course you can always ask your server to make your favorite Thai dishes extra spicy and they will be happy to accommodate.

Our orders as featured in our pictures below was Fried Bussaba sweet sauce, a VERY tasty Thai style grilled pork, crispy rice crackers with a sweet curry dipping sauce, freshwater snails with Sha Plu veggies - this dish is very hard to find and a must-try! We also enjoyed spicy Green Beans in a Thai Chilli Paste with Salty Eggs and super yummy Pork Satay with peanut sauce.

Ruen Mallika also makes their own Thai whisky created from Thai herbs which they serve with preserved Thai fruits such as mango, star gooseberry, and grapes.

Ruen Mallika has a nice selection of local beers, and a decent wine selection. We at Thaifoodies.co however reccomend a very cold Singha or Chang beer when eating spicy Thai dishes to help put out the fire!

Reasonably priced and very relaxed Ruen Mallika is a great place for any occasion. Always best to call ahead especially for bigger groups but walk ins are most welcome. Click here to check out the Ruen Mallika Website
