Quality Mexican Eats, Margaritas and People Watching in Bangkok at Margarita Storm

Margarita Storm Review | thaifoodies.co

One of the things I love about living in Bangkok is the vast variety of restaurants and cuisine one can enjoy simply riding the BTS train up and down Sukhumvit road. One such gem is located at the corner of Sukhumvit Road soi 13 - Margarita Storm! A short walk from either Nana or Asoke BTS stations.

The Thaifoodies team stopped by Margarita Storm on a Thursday afternoon around 17:00 having been stuck in traffic for almost 2 hours (we were coming from out of town) and were badly in need of a Margarita. The Storm did not disappoint.

Too early for dinner, we decided to have a couple snacks and what turned out to be a couple pitchers of frozen margarita's. While margarita's are loved the world over, there is simply something special about stepping out of Bangkok's notorious heat and sipping an icy cold margarita! Sublime....

We snacked on stuffed, deep fried jalapeno peppers with cheese and a plate of pork nachos with everything. The peppers were spicy but not overpowering and the melted cheese inside divine. The nachos had a wonderful blend of cheesy goodness, also a bit spicy, served with a pretty good guacamole.

Our margarita's went down fast, partly due to the after effect of traffic and partly due to the spicy fare. Regardless, they were potent and tasty.

The service at Margarita Storm was friendly and fast as always. Margarita Storm is owned by Sunrise Tacos a very popular chain of Mexican Restaurants in Thailand. Some of the servers at Margarita Storm are from the Phillipines so English has never been a problem.

Margarita Storm has a good sized outside deck where you can smoke and/or people watch. The location on soi 13 is great for this as the foot traffic is always heavy and NEVER boring. This is a VERY popular activity so come a bit early if you wish to sit outside.

Several large TVs are positioned around the main dining room where your favorite sports can be watched. The second floor of Margarita Storm also has an old arcade style video game system with classics like Frogger, Pacman, Ms Pacman etc, along with foosball, pool and shuffleboard. This is popular with kids and adults alike. The second floor also has TV sets to watch your sports.

The menu at Margarita Storm is the same as Sunrise Tacos but there is an additional Storm specific menu that offers burgers, pizza and other snacks. The Mexican menu is large but not overdone. Just about any type of drink you want is available but obviously beer and Margaritas are the most popular. Check out their Happy Hour which goes until 7 PM with 99 Baht pints for local beers. A good value.

If you are looking for good Mexican food in a fun sports bar type environment or just doing a bit of people watching be sure to check out The Storm!
