Bourbon Street Restaurant and Oyster Bar is an institution in Bangkok having opening its doors in 1986. Originally located in Washington Square, a small out of the way soi bracketed by Vietnam War era bars, Bourbon Street's owner Doug Harrison moved to a decidedly more upscale location in 2011- to Ekamai Soi 63 a short walk fro the BTS station, giving the restaurant a classy look with 3 floors of dining space and a boutique hotel to boot.
While best known for authentic Cajun and Louisiana Creole dishes, such as Blackened Fish, Gumbo, Jambalaya, Fresh Live Imported Oysters, Boiled Live Crawfish Bourbon Street is actually one of the best places in Bangkok to for American style eats. The menu is massive with a decidedly homemade feel to it that is often missing in Bangkok's newer establishments. While leaning towards more America style fare the menu does offer an absolutely stellar Thai selection as well. Great food with New Orleans-style hospitality, Thai charm makes Bourbon Street the perfect venue for a family outing, a special date or just by yourself.

For our Saturday afternoon visit to Bourbon Street we enjoyed a menu of raw French oysters, Pork nachos with guacamole and fresh salsa, Chicken fajitas, Grilled Pork burger, Spicy Andouille Sausage with peppers, crab cakes, cajun style prawns, and spicy shrimp gumbo. Of the many side dishes on offer we tried the coleslaw, corn bread, and sweet corn Delicious!
Oh, and lots of Leffe beer!
You cannot go wrong at Bourbon Street, friendly faces, cold beer and scrumptious food make this a must try for EVERY visitor to the big Mango.
