Competition for the title of Best Steakhouse in Bangkok is fierce and in a city with so many exceptional fine dining establishments earning such a moniker is high praise indeed. Perched on the 31st floor of The Landmark Bangkok is the multi award winning steakhouse - Rib Room and Bar - Possibly the Best Steaks in Town.
Stepping into the subdued lighting of the Rib Room and Bar the eye is instantly drawn to the chic decor - cool black marble, fiery red leather, and warm polished wood perfectly frame the absolutely stunning panoramic view of the Bangkok skyline.
The Rib Room and Bar is the definition of fine dining. The ambiance is sophisticated, the service impeccable and the food is the height of gourmet artistry. As we were there to review we perhaps indulged a bit as we wished to sample a wide range of the wonderful menu at RR&B.
Our evening at the Rib Room and Bar started out with a lovely Lobster Bisque served as a cappuccino with lobster morsel.. Creamy and subtle, this is a lovely starter to your evening. Very light but with a flavor that piques that appetite.
Next up was a Classic RR&B Caesar Salad prepared tableside. Dining with a dash of entertainment here as the salad s perfectly prepared in front of your eyes. Crisp lettuce, bacon, parmesan all blend together here to entice. The portions are spot on and did not slow our anticipation or the next wonderful course.
Lightly seared U.S. Sea Scallops with pistachio, green pea puree and beurre blanc espuma were presented next. Tender, sweet and so very fresh, a lovely way to segue into the more substantial dish of the evening.
One of my personal favorites was served up next, a decadent Foie Gras Duo featuring both Terrine and Pan Fried goose liver. This is such an amazing dish, an explosion of rich, elegant flavor - amazing and one of the best on the evening.

Now on the entrees.
We were treated to the table side preparation of an absolutely beautiful Steak Au Poivre A La Creme. This is a real treat that you do not get at just any restaurant. The tenderloin is expertly prepared while you wait and the anticipation grows as the gorgeous aromas waft from the pan. Once on the table, replete with its complex sauce, this dish is a masterpiece. The beef is so incredibly tender with just the right amount of fat to create a balance of flavor that makes you shake your head in disbelief that anything can be so delicious! The highlight of our evening - so far!
The amazing cuisine just kept coming with a lovely Slow Cooked Chicken Breast with soubise puree, poached egg, roasted shallots and crumbled skin.. If you believe that all chicken tastes than same then you are in for a real treat. The Slow Cooked Chicken Breasts at R&B is a delight for the tastebuds and almost to pretty to eat!
Our last entree was a gorgeous Maine Lobster Thermidor with spinach and Dijon mustard gratin. The lobster just melted in our mouths, so fresh and sweet. The creamy, lobster meat baked together with the subtle creamy sauce was the perfect ending to the entrees.
After such an incredible meal we were not sure we had room for dessert but once again we were tempted by the expert staff at RR&B with table side preparation of Crepes Suzette and sinfully rich Chocolate Lava Sensation.
The presentation of the Crepes Suzette is stunning in the subdued lighting of RR&B and the light citrus dessert awaked our tastebuds just in time for a Chocolate Sensation a chocolate fondant served with white chocolate ice cream that completely blew us away. The Chocolate Sensation is a must when dining at RR&B.
The Rib Room and Bar is a place for celebration, an establishment to impress, or to have a memorable experience that transcends mere dining. Book your table at the Rib Room and Bar for your special occasion and enjoy - you'll thanks us!
