Flavors at Renaissance Hotel Bangkok - A Luxurious Buffet Experience

Flavors Buffet | thaifoodies.co

In the foodie-friendly heaven that is Bangkok there is absolutely no shortage of buffets. Big and small, good and bad, cheap and dear - take you pick. The Thaifoodies team have sampled several of Bangkok's buffets since we began our epicurean journey in early 2017 but were taken aback at the astonishing achievement that is the Flavors Sunday Brunch at the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel.

Under the learned eye of new Executive Chef Matthias Mittnacht the Flavors Sunday Brunch is the height of gourmet bliss and a truly required destination for those with a refined palate.

The selection and quality of the cuisine at Flavors is in fact so extensive and so excellent in nature that I'm tempted to only call this a buffet in the strictest sense of the word lest it be equated with lower standard all-you-can-eat affairs. The attention to detail from the simplest appetizer to the hard carved Prime Rib and made-to-order whole Maine Lobster is extraordinary. Yes, EACH diner gets a WHOLE MAINE LOBSTER to his or herself! More on that later.....

The space at Flavors is large, light and airy. Plenty of room for large families or intimate one-on-one dining. Do note however that this buffet is extremely popular so advanced booking is not only suggested but arguably required. Call ahead and book your table to avoid disappointment +66 2 1255010

The elements of the Flavors Sunday Brunch are familiar but the quality of the ingredients used will impress even the most die-hard buffet enthusiast. The salads are fresh and crisp with yummy homemade dressings along with a selection lovely cold salads and premium slices meats . The cheese and foie gras station is impressive with rich French cheeses and three types of foie gras including a lovely seafood terrine!

Seafood is always a popular choice for a buffet and the selection of fresh seafood at Flavors is amazing. Fresh squid, rock lobster, tiger prawn, fin de claire oysters can be cooked to order, and an incredible sushi and sashimi section.

Without a doubt though it is the whole Maine Lobster that each patron receives that grabs the imagination of each and every diner at Flavors. You can choose one of 5 ways to have your lobster prepared. The Thaifoodies team choose; Lobster with Garlic Butter, Lobster Thermidor, Lobster with HK Style Pepper Sauce, but Lobster Sashimi, or traditional Boiled Lobster are also available.

If you are a true carnivore like us then you will want to dig into some of the delicious hand carved Prime Rib, roasted chicken or Lamb or the incredible Roast Duck from the famous Fei Ya Chinese Restaurant also at the Renaissance. YUMMY!

The dessert offer at Flavors is also incredible. Chef Matthias is an accomplished pastry chef and has put a great deal of effort into the selection of tempting desserts.

The Flavors Sunday Brunch is an absolute steal at only 2,400 baht ++ per person. It includes all you can drink soft drinks and of course that amazing whole main lobster! The brunch runs from 12:00 to 15:00.
