On an overcast evening the Thaifoodies team settled down at an alfresco table at NYE Cafestraurant to soak in the river sights and sounds while sampling a few of the sexy cocktails that Amdaeng serves up daily.
We started with the Amdaeng Expression a romantic, rose-hued potable that is a sweet as it looks and the house favorite. We next sampled a pure white cocktail called White Pearl that stirred up a tropical beach memory with refreshing coconut and pineapple flavors.
As much as we wanted to stick to our riverside perch we were forced to move indoors when the heavens opened up but that was OK as we do love the distressed feel of the entire hotel – what a hidden gem! Our selections for the evening included; Sweet & Sour Prawn soup, Stir-Fried Liang with Egg, Chinese Pork Stew, Deep Fried Seabass with Cumin and finally a lovely Lamb Massaman Curry.
