Medici Kitchen and Bar Review | thaifoodies.co

Bangkok is the world's most popular destinations because it never fails to introduce visitors to new and exciting discoveries and our latest review brought us to just such an experience - Medici Kitchen and Bar at Hotel Muse Bangkok.

Situated on swanky Langsuan Road in the Lumpini area of Bangkok, Medici Kitchen and Bar is not only an award winning restaurant but it also features LIVE operatic performances Tuesday through Saturday.

From the Hotel Muse Bangkok website:

Located in the basement is the award winning Italian restaurant, Medici Kitchen and Bar. Awarded Thailand Tatler’s “Best Italian Restaurant in Bangkok” for 3 years in a row, its success has been due to their innovation of combining unique and well-presented dishes with a dining “experience”. The menu has been purposefully designed by maverick Executive Chef, Bart Cywinsk, who has drawn from the rich offerings of Italy’s Mediterranean coastline to bring those flavors to Bangkok.

This award winning Italian restaurant offers both dinner and theater where guests can enjoy an operatic performance, live music, or special event entertainment with their meal. FIVERA, the first and only pop-opera group in Thailand offers nightly operatic performances amongst the diners except on Sunday-Monday nights.

The Interior of Medici Kitchen and Bar is neo-industrial in design featuring subdued, gold lighting offset with deep. purple highlights. Faux wrought iron and wooden barrels line the walls of a dining room reminiscent of a 19th century wine cellar. Dark wood and cool, gleaming steel, and an open-kitchen round out the elegant decor.

Our first dish was the the Mud Crab and Tomato Cannelloni. (580 Baht/US$17.57) This seeming simple appetizer was a actually complex in flavor with tender crab, fresh tomato and of course caviar! This is a WONDERFUL dish - A MUST TRY!

Next up was Foi Gras Ravioli! (650 Baht/US$19.69) Babe and I LOVE Foie Gras and this dainty dish was a gift from heaven. Three hand made ravioli stuffed with foie gras and topped with heavy cream and truffle! This dis is MAGNIFICENT! Another MUST TRY!

Our entree was a delicate piece of Roasted Snow Fish (1,200 Baht/US$36.36) served with olives and capers in spicy tomato sauce, finished with a saffron mayonnaise. The snow fish was so very light and tender perfectly accented by the spicy vegetable medley - Another MUST TRY! A lovely light dish and the perfect way to wrap up our meal - except for dessert of course!
