A Tranquil Retreat: GranMonte Vineyard and Winery Review

Discover the allure of GranMonte Vineyard and Winery in Khaoyai, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, as we recount our amazing overnight stay in the Vineyard Wine Cottage.

The Accommodation We chose to stay in the intimate Wine Cottage, featuring only 7 rooms. Our room, Cottage number 8, a Vineyard Deluxe on the 2nd floor, offered a cozy and private atmosphere. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a choice of Rosé wine or 100% Shiraz Grapes juice from the winery.

The cottage boasts a charming country-style décor with warm colors, natural materials, and simple furnishings. A spacious outdoor balcony provided breathtaking views of the vineyard.

The large comfortable bedroom included a king-size bed with two pillows per person, a living chair area for sipping wine and coffee, a working desk, and a smart television.

Guest amenities included a wardrobe with bathrobes, in-room slippers, a water boiler with instant drip coffee and tea, and a refrigerator stocked with minibar snacks and GranMonte wine for purchase.

The clean bathroom featured vintage tile wall decoration, amenity kits with high-quality toiletries (from Panpuri brand), a hairdryer, and towels.

A Special Vineyard Tour Our stay coincided with a special encounter with the owner's daughters, "Khun Nikki Lohitnavy" – the first and only woman winemaker of Thailand, General Manager, Oenologist, and Winemaker, and "Khun Mimi Lohitnavy" – Director Marketing and PR of GranMonte. They graciously took us on a Vineyard and Winery tour, sharing insights into grape varieties, grape vines, and the vinification process.

Stargazing at GranMonte A highlight of our stay was stargazing at night. The Wine Cottage holds a Dark Sky Thailand certificate, offering an exceptional experience of the night sky while emphasizing the importance of protecting it from light pollution. For a unique and unforgettable experience, GranMonte Vineyard and Winery is highly recommended.

We captured a stunning picture of Venus, stars, and the moon during our nighttime stargazing, making it a perfect night ever.

Morning Bliss and Breakfast at Vincotto Restaurant After a peaceful night's sleep, we enjoyed an early morning walk and bike ride around the vineyard.

Breakfast at Vincotto restaurant (7:00-10:00 AM) featured outdoor seating next to the lotus pond, offering a beautiful nature view.

Vincotto provides four set menus: Thai Breakfast set, American breakfast set, Continental breakfast set, and Egg Benedict breakfast set. Each meal is served with a glass of sparkling wine "GranMonte Cremant" and fresh 100% Shiraz grape juice.

Our favorites included the delectable "Egg Benedict" and the Thai Breakfast set, particularly the "Kai Krata."

and The Continental Breakfast set, every set serves along with seasonal fruits, homemade bread rolls, banana cupcakes, and hot beverages, provided a satisfying start to the day.

Exploring the Area Post-breakfast, we explored Suan Prasitho, home to the largest Luang Pho Khun statue globally,

and later indulged in coffee at HOL CAFÉ & ROASTERY. This specialty coffee spot impressed us with its high-quality, single-origin beans and various brewing methods. They offer a variety of other beverages, such as tea and pastries.

The atmosphere is so comfortable, beautiful modern design have outdoor and indoor seat for customer.

We’ve tried Affogato serve with ice-cream vanilla. Hot latte, Matcha with somjeed soda, and pour-over ice americano. Their coffee and Matcha are great. For bakery we had Banoffee and croissants are also tasty have it with coffee is perfect.

After we came back from cafe. We decided to have dinner at Vincotto. Don't missed out to try Homemade International and Thai food at Vincotto, the recipe from generation to generation. It's was delectable every single menu.

Pairing GranMonte wine with Thai food can be a delightful experience, given the intricate blend of flavors in this cuisine. We love all these dishes with its diverse flavors, fresh ingredients, and creative combinations, Thai food is sure to tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more.

Here is our recommended menu. Stir fry prawn with chili, Pork in red curry, Deep fried spicy minced pork, Deep fried prawn with white sesame serve with tamarind sauce, Fried rice with shrimp paste: served with sweet pork/shallots/mango/chili and omelet.

Finish off a delicious dining experience with strawberry cake and blueberry cheese tart.

Khao Yai Nakhonratchasima, is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Take your time and savor the experience.
