Mr Trump, Build No Wall around the AMAZING food at THE MEXICAN Bangkok

Thai food is wonderful. No dispute there, but when you live in Thailand or even if you vacation for more than a few days you will soon seek alternatives to the venerable Thai dishes you love. Likewise, the Thaifoodies team decided on a different fare for our weekend visit - Mexican food at THE MEXICAN "The Mexican has an uber chill vibe with definite party overtones!" Located in Sukhumvit Soi 2, The Mexican is a short 5 minute walk from the Ploenchit BTS station, right around the corner from The JW Marriott Hotel. When we arrived this past Saturday we were expecting to review some good food and drink but discovered that The Mexican offers much more than that. If I were to sum up this c

Best Pad Thai in Bangkok?- Jasmine Resort Hotel Review

It's a bold statement to say that we have found the best Pad Thai in Bangkok. These things are very subjective indeed. But Thaifoodies can say with all confidence that we have found what is easily one of our FAVORITE NEW PAD THAI destinations and its is only a 1 minute walk from the Prakanong BTS Station on Sukhumvit Road Jasmine Station Restaurant at The Jasmine Resort Hotel in Bangkok. Actually, we tried two different types of Pad Thai and they were equally wonderful. Our critic Babe opted for Pad Thai with King River Prawn, pictured above, while I went for a Chicken Pad Thai, as seen below. The combination of flavors was very well balanced, soft rice noodles from Chantaburi prepared

INSANELY SPICY - Bangkok's Best Issan Food - Baan Issan Mueng Yot Restaurant

Thais are very proud of their country and equally proud of their cuisine as they should be. A source of particular pride is a capacity for eating really spicy food. I've had many Thai friends ask me over the years "Can you eat spicy food?" The answer is not quite so simple. I can, of course eat spicy food and I do enjoy it but there are some dishes that are WAY above my SPICY rating and a few of the dishes from Baan Issan Mueng Yot take it to the next level - so hot even Thai's can barely handle it. Living in downtown Bangkok I'm spoiled for choice when it come to food. It was however, my lovely wife who turned me onto this little Isan restaurant tucked away in Sukhumvit Soi 31 in the As

Bangkok's Best Pizza - Pizza Mania!

Pizza in Thailand used to be limited to a handful of western chains and upscale italian restaurants, but the good folks a Pizza Mania break away from that mold and offer what the thaifoodiesco team believes is the Best Pizza in Bangkok hands down! This past weekend we got together to work on our Thaifoodiesco site and decided to order in pizza. Well, as usual we never do things small, so while enjoying insanely good pizza we decided to share our Pizza Mania happiness with the world! Here's a quick video of just how much we enjoy our Pizza Mania! Our favorite, insanely good pizza from Pizza Mania is the 240 with Tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, pickled jalapenos, creamy french goat chees

Adley Italian Restaurant - Eat, Drink, and Love in Bangkok

Adley Italian restaurant located on Ratchaphruek Road in Bangkok is the newest member of an already impressive culinary dynasty. Adley is located next to and indeed owned by the same family that operates the Huasaenghong group of restaurants, a very famous Thai Chinese local chain of eateries. Thaifoodies will review Huasenghong in the near future but in the meantime if your interest is piqued you can check out the link below for more info about this famous family chain. Huasenghong Restaurants For this review we will focus on the Adley Italian and the wonderful Italian/Thai cuisine we discovered there. Located in the suburbs of northwestern Bangkok about a kilometer The Walk Shopping Cent

Holiday Inn Bangkok - A Place to Chill when Shopping in Sweltering Bangkok

Ok, full disclosure we did not intend to wind up at the Holiday Inn Bangkok lounge last weekend. The original plan was to review a very well known and popular Thai eatery in the Chidlom area but this plan was thwarted by ill-informed restuarant staff who refused to allow us to film or even take pictures. I'm happy to report though that the issue was resolved and we will be bringing that review to you very soon. Having our plans disrupted and honestly being a bit peeved we sought out a cool spot to escape Bangkok's muggy weather and decided to give the Holiday Inn Bangkok's Lounge a try. Click here for the Holiday Inn Bangkok's Website Our intrepid critic Babe decided on the venue after a fe

Queen Victoria Pub - A Proper British Pub and Slanted Taco - Authentic Mexican Fare - thaifoodies.co

One of my favorite things about living in Bangkok is the quantity of awesome restaurants, bars, cafes, clubs etc - yes, yes, I know I've said that before but Metropolitan Bangkok for all its size is a very condensed city, especially along Sukhumvit Rd. Hopping from spot to spot is super easy either by the BTS, cab, motorcycle or simply walking. When were about ready to launch the thaifoodies.co site we decided to choose a location close to home where we could work on our photography, video and the format of our videos. We chose the Queen Victoria Pub in Sukhumvit soi 23, Asoke because it has been a favorite pub of ours for years but also because it is quiet in the afternoons so we hoped we

Bourbon Street Restaurant and Oyster Bar - Real Cajun and Creole Cuisine in Bangkok

Bourbon Street Restaurant and Oyster Bar is an institution in Bangkok having opening its doors in 1986. Originally located in Washington Square, a small out of the way soi bracketed by Vietnam War era bars, Bourbon Street's owner Doug Harrison moved to a decidedly more upscale location in 2011- to Ekamai Soi 63 a short walk fro the BTS station, giving the restaurant a classy look with 3 floors of dining space and a boutique hotel to boot. While best known for authentic Cajun and Louisiana Creole dishes, such as Blackened Fish, Gumbo, Jambalaya, Fresh Live Imported Oysters, Boiled Live Crawfish Bourbon Street is actually one of the best places in Bangkok to for American style eats.
